About Motala Hissar

Motala Hissar is a leading manufacturer of elevators for buildings where space is limited. The company has one of the world’s most space-efficient elevators. We are a company in the Aritco Group, owned by Latour Industries. Motala Hissar is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.

From June 2021, Motala Hissar AB is owned by Latour Industries and is now part of Aritco Group AB. Latour is one of the largest investment companies in Sweden with a turnover of more than SEK 5 billion. The company’s philosophy is to buy or invest in companies and make them grow in the long term. We are happy to have a new owner with financial muscle who believes in us and our products and is willing to invest in our future.

Motala Hissar started in 1972 with the production of goods lifts. Since the 1980s, the company has focused mainly on platform lifts, which are predominantly used for accessibility adaptation of buildings. Over 10,000 lifts have been delivered to customers worldwide to date. Around 60% of production is exported.

Motala Hissar works with continuous improvement of products, production and systems. The lifts must offer the highest safety, reliability and economy. The goal is for customers to feel that they are getting the best the industry has to offer. Quality is continuously improved with the help of feedback from distributors and customers.

We manufacture all mechanical parts in our own facility. This means that we have full control over production. If a customer needs a special solution or a particularly fast delivery time, we can usually accommodate this. Our production facility in Motala is centrally located from a geographical perspective with fast distribution routes both north and south.

We have our own development department that continuously works on making our products better, smarter, cheaper and even more space-saving.
